Given the need of the industrial sector for the integration of engineers and technicians with all their specializations in diverse work environments, Jazan University established in the year 1433 AH the College of Applied Industrial Technology (CAIT) in Baish in order to contribute providing the city of Jazan and the local community with technically qualified graduates equipped with knowledge and applied sciences.

The College of Applied Industrial Technology (CAIT), with its distinguished location and the Intermediate Diplomas, has 3 scientific departments, are:

1- Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology,

2- Department of Electrical Engineering Technology,

3- Department of Chemical Engineering Technology,

These departments are important tributary to meet the needs of the industrial sector in the Jazan region. CAIT also includes an elite group of qualified faculty members, whose expertise has contributed to obtain full international academic accreditation from the ABET for all of the college’s programs .

CAIT focuses on developing the capabilities of its students and refining their skills through intensive training programs held at the end of each year in order to enhance the professional aspect of the students, in addition to conducting intensive field visits to various industrial sectors in order to create bridges of communication and build effective partnerships with several industrial sectors.

The college holds an exhibition of student graduation projects every year - in the presence of a number of buisiness owners in the government and private sectors - through which college students present applied engineering models that contribute to finding solutions to a number of technical engineering problems.

In addition to developing the competencies of its students, CAIT is interested in designing development programs, such as the “Skilled Technician” program, which is concerned with improving and enhancing students’ abilities and skills, such as communication skills and writing technical reports, as well as effective communication and presentation skills, building a CV, and dealing with personal interviews. To ensure the quality of the outputs and to enhance trust between the employment sector and the college, the college implemented the Exit Exam, which aims to evaluate its outcomes and build continuous improvement and development plans for the programs in a way that enhances the graduate’s competencies and keeps pace with the rapid development in the field of engineering and technology and contributes to their competition in the fields of industry. The college also boasts of the employment rates of its graduate students, which rise year after year, as the employment rate in the year 2023 reached (78%), confirming that Jazan University ranked first in employment among public universities according to the National Labor Observatory.
